Haemorrhoid artery ligation: Here, the blood vessels that are responsible for the hemorrhoids are treated to makes sure that your condition is rectified.
With Anesthesia
Hemorrhoidectomy
This treatment can be performed for both internal and external piles. Generally, when all other treatments fail, your doctor might opt for this one depending on the severity of the condition. This is a procedure that’s performed in the hospital under anesthesia. Once the anesthesia takes effect, your doctor will cut the large hemorrhoids and you will be kept under observation post-surgery. After ensuring all your vitals are stable, you will be discharged.
Hemorrhoidopexy
This surgery is also known as stapling, which is conducted under anesthesia and the patient is discharged on the same day after the surgery. The recovery time is less and it is not very painful too. During this procedure, hemorrhoid’s blood supply is cut off to ensure the tissue shrinks.
If you are someone who is noticing hemorrhoid symptoms, make sure that you notice its progression and if they are getting severe or it is painful, make sure you visit your doctor immediately.
Once the surgery is completed, your doctor will prescribe the necessary painkillers to ensure you don’t go through any pain and you are able to recover easily. You can also try adapting a healthy post-surgery lifestyle where you must eat a high-fiber diet, drinks lots of water (at least 8-10 glasses every day), and make use of stool softeners prescribed by the doctor to prevent any strain during your bowel movements.
If you notice the symptoms of piles, avoid any heavy heavy lifting as it can worsen the situation. You can also use a sitz bath every day where you soak the anal area in warm salt water for a few minutes several times a day. This can be done using a bathtub or a big plastic tub.
