Quick Fact check on the Vaccination procedure
January 15, 2022India has stepped up the vaccination programme with Phase 2.0, and nearly 2 crore people have been vaccinated as per the news coming in. This includes frontline workers, healthcare professionals and senior citizens, above the age of 60 and people over 45 years with serious illness.
Apollo Spectra has the honour and privilege of being among the centres authorised by the Government of India, to administer the vaccine.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION?
Phase 2.0 has begun, with senior citizens as priority. All elders, above the age of 60, can register themselves for the vaccine.
Citizens above 45 years, who have co-morbities, are also eligible to take the vaccine after getting a doctor's certificate.
WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED?
Senior citizens need only carry a valid government identification (PAN card, Aadhaar Card or Passport).
People over 45 years with comorbities, must carry a doctor's certificate as well as an ID.

SAFE PRACTICES TO FOLLOW BEFORE & AFTER
- If you have allergies, speak to your family doc and clear your doubts. Though not common, some people may have an allergic reaction to certain components of the vaccine. Your doctor may suggest taking a few tests beforehand, to rule out the same.
- Those on diabetes medication should speak to their specialist to share their concerns.
- Eat nourishing home food a few days before and after your vaccine dose. A healthy diet helps the body respond better.
- Ensure that you sleep at leat 7 to 8 hours each night. Rest helps the body's immune system faster.
- Stay well hydrated, as we are entering summer and should anyway be consuming more fluids.
- If you have recently recovered / recovering from this or any other virus, wait for a few days before opting for the vaccine, unless suggested otherwise by your doctor.
- If you have receive any blood plasma or monoclonal antibodies as part of your treatment for Covid-19, please wait until your doctor permits you. This could take 4 to 6 weeks.
- Please continue following social distancing, wearing a mask and regular hand hygiene even after the vaccine. These practices are essential so that vaccinated people do not become carriers, though they may be asymptomatic.
UNSAFE PRACTICES : Do NOT
- Do not believe rumours or forwards sent via social media. Validate all your queries from a medical practitioner or a trusted website. If you have doubts you can call our helpline: 0000, and speak to a professional.
- People on blood thinners, heart-related medications or undergoing chemotherapy should not get the vaccine without medical guidance.
- Do not get vaccinated if you have recently changed some medication. Wait for 2 to 3 weeks to see whether that medicine has any reactions.
- If you are nervous, be assured that these vaccines have been tested multiple times, and are safe. Initiate a practice of meditation, yoga and mindful breathing, to feel grounded.
- Do not panic if there is a reaction like mild swelling on the arm, or low grade fever. This is a normal occurrence. So is fatigue or feeling a slight chill.
